On Thursday, February 28, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in Amador, Glenn, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma counties due to the severe winter storms that have battered communities throughout our state. High amounts of precipitation led to rising rivers and major flooding in areas, and also caused mudslides in other regions.

For CalVet Home Loan homeowners, your loan includes the Disaster Indemnity Program, which specifically provides flood coverage. CalVet contract holders who experienced property damages due to the recent flooding should contact York Field Services’ 24-hour hotline at (800) 626-1613 to begin the claim process. CalVet encourages all veterans affected by any flooding or mudslides to visit their local County Veterans Service Offices (CVSO) for assistance with claim forms, replacing service documents, and job assistance.
Sonoma County residents are encouraged to accurately record and report all losses and damages, including damages to property, personal belongings, vehicles, and all items large and small on your property, to maximize state and federal support opportunities.
