California is home to nearly 1.7 million veterans, with 25,000 veterans leaving active duty and settling here each year. For 70 years, CalVet has been their advocate and their resource, helping California’s veterans achieve the highest quality of life.
CalVet serves as an umbrella agency of 3,200 dedicated employees providing services from the first day a veteran returns home, on through his or her path to education, career, home ownership, starting a business, and lasting all the way until he or she needs a final resting place.
Because our veteran population is as diverse as our California population, their needs vary widely. We aim to be of service to all veterans, regardless of their age, gender, or period of service, and address the specific challenges some veterans face with mental health and physical disabilities. For that reason, CalVet offers a comprehensive palette of services that you can learn about on our website at www.calvet.ca.gov.
Together, CalVet and our partners are far greater than the sum of our parts. We unite businesses, non-profits, and the government to make sure every one of our veterans receives the support we have guaranteed them.
