This Veterans Day will be the 98th time our nation has celebrated the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces with a national day of remembrance and honor.
One way businesses and restaurants throughout the state will honor those who have donned the nation’s uniform and protected our freedoms will be with a free meal or entry into their establishment.
CalVet has gathered a list of restaurants and businesses offering deals to veterans, current servicemembers and military families.
Please note: We recommend you call specific locations to make sure they are taking part in the promotions and ask in advance what proof of service they will need to see. (P.S. Getting veteran designation on your driver license or ID card makes it easy to prove your service!)
Aerospace Museum of California
The Aerospace Museum is offering free admission to all guests on Veterans Day.
Applebee’s will offer veterans and active-duty service members a free meal on Nov. 11.
Veterans and military personnel who show valid service ID receive free admission on November 11, 2017.
Back Yard Burger will be offering a free classic burger to all active-duty military members and veterans who show ID or proof of service.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse will provide complimentary food on Veterans Day to show their support for all the service men and women.
Veterans can enjoy a buy 1 and get 1 free individual meal and drink this Saturday at Boston Market.
Veterans can enjoy free wings and fries on Saturday at all U.S. locations.
On Veterans Day, all veterans or active duty military personnel will be able to select a free entree from a special Veterans Day menu including pizza, salads and pasta.
California State Railroad Museum
Partake in a free excursion train ride on the Sacramento Southern Railroad at 11 a.m., noon, 1p.m., 2p.m., and 3p.m., and earn free museum admission for veterans and active duty members of the military who show proof of service.
Get a free 8oz sirloin steak dinner with an all-you-can-eat salad, bread, baked potato and beans on Wednesday, Nov. 11 for active, inactive, and retired military personnel.
Veterans and active-duty military members get a free entree on Nov. 11.
Cracker Barrel is giving veterans a free slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert on Nov. 11.
At participating locations, active-duty military and veterans can enjoy a free craft beer. Craftwork restaurants include Gordon Biersch, Rock Bottom,Old Chicago Pizza, ChopHouse, Big River Grille, Bluewater Grille, A1A Ale Works, Ragtime Tavern, and Seven Bridge.
All active-duty military members and veterans get a free “Build Your Own Grand Slam” pancake meal at Denny’s Friday, Nov. 10 from 5 a.m. to noon.
On Nov. 11, Dunkin’ Donuts will be offering a free doughnut to all veterans and active duty military.
East Bay Regional District Park
The East Bay Regional Park District welcomes all active and retired military personnel to our parks as guests who receive free day-use parking, and admission at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont on Veterans Day.
Golden Corral will host a Military Appreciation Day Monday, Nov. 13. All customers with military ID get a free meal.
Veterans and active duty-military get a free meal from a selected menu on Nov. 11.
Anyone with a military ID gets a free order of pancakes on Friday, Nov. 10.

Nuvision Credit Union is offering free breakfast and a tank of gas to all active military and veterans on Veterans Day, November 11 from 8-10am at the Mobil Station at 16001 Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach. Nuvision staff will fill up one free tank of gas, up to 20 gallons per automobile, for anyone with a valid veteran or military ID.
Veterans and active-duty military can get a free meal from a limited menu at Olive Garden on Saturday, Nov. 11. Beverages are not included in the offer.
